Course Outline

All snowmobiles must be equipped with:

  • One or two headlamps that display a white light and...
  • One tail lamp that displays a red light.

Your snowmobile headlamps and tail lamp should be on at all times, day or night, to increase your visibility while you are operating on Forest Service roads.

If you are operating your snowmobile on a highway, the headlamps and tail lamp must be illuminated if the snowmobile is being operated:

  • From one half hour after sunset to one half hour before sunrise or...
  • When visibility is limited to 150 metres or less.

For more information about specific headlamp and tail lamp requirements, see Divisions 4 and 24 of the Motor Vehicle (All Terrain) Act Regulations.
