Course Outline

Persons under 8 years of age may not operate any snowmobile on public lands, roads, or trails in Utah.

Persons 8 to 15 years of age may operate a snowmobile on public property designated for snowmobile use only if they have a safety education certificate from Utah State Parks or their home state.

Persons 16 years of age and older may operate a snowmobile on public property designated for snowmobile use only if they have:

  • A valid driver’s license or...
  • An approved safety education certificate.

To obtain a Utah safety education certificate, the operator must successfully complete the Utah State Parks’ snowmobile safety education course.
