Responding After an Accident

If you are involved in an accident, you must:

• Stop and render assistance and…
• Give your name, address, and identification of your snowmobile to anyone injured and/or the owner of any property.

You must file a written report of the accident with the IDNR within 48 hours if the accident resulted in the death of a person.

You must file a written report of the accident with the IDNR within 5 days if the accident resulted in:

• Injury to a person that incapacitates the person for more than 72 hours or...
• Property damage of $750 or more.
