Riding Your Snowmobile

Riding Uphill

  • Use the kneeling position. However, you may need to switch to the posting position because it puts pressure on the track for better traction.
  • Lean uphill.
  • Increase the throttle to maintain your speed. The deeper the snow, the more speed you need.
  • Don’t stop until you get to the top. If you lose forward momentum, you may not be able to start climbing again. If you do lose forward momentum, turn your machine off, pull your skis around until they are pointed downhill, start your machine, and ride back down.
